We have been in contact with Eileen Drever from the SPCA, here is what they asked HCBC and its members to do: 1) They already have sufficient foster homes set up, thank you to all of the offers 2) They will be looking for permanent homes in the future, but not at this time 3) The horses will stay at the SPCA shelter for a week or two until they are recovered enough to go to foster homes and continue their rehabilitation. 4) The Surrey SPCA has requested specific donations of Hay or alfalfa, oil, Senior complete feed, mineral blocks or similar items. 5) If you would like to donate money please send your cheque made out to: Cruelty Investigation - BCSPCA, 1245 East 7th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5T 1R1 6) At this time they would like to recruit some experienced horse people to help with the day to day care of the remaining horses. If you have experience with horses please email edrever@spca.bc.ca and put in the subject line "Experienced horse people needed to care for seized horses" 7) Please limit your calls of concern at this time as the Surrey SPCA and Eileen Drever are receiving hundreds of calls and cannot answer them all. The SPCA sincerely thanks the public for their offers of help and messages of concern. We will post any other information the SPCA passes to HCBC directly when we hear from them again. Sincerely, Lisa Laycock Signature erased copy Lisa Laycock Executive Director, Horse Council BC
